Location, modern design, cleanliness, rate of hotel .. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

iPod/iPhone dock didnt work or allow us to charge our devices.

The compact self-catering facilities were a very welcome surprise and were much appreciated.

no twin bedded rooms meant our teenage daughters had to share a double bed.

Very close to everything - great location! Ver comfortable bed and pillows.

Still a few kinks to work out: no bulb in lamp, old coffee packet still in coffee maker, tv picture was fuzzy - but still enjoyed the room.

    Price, location, style, staff

Admittedly a record storm did not help, but the valet parking and wait attached is not ideal for people teavelling by car. Also, although the design of our room was excellent, the finishes were average and already beginning to show wear (especially at and around the gables of the closet/bar unit.)

Compact, well designed, quiet and comfortable rooms. Restaurant not yet open, but provided a continental breakfast with outstanding muffins! Great location for Old Montreal without paying inflated prices. Price including valet parking was reasonable. We walked most everywhere.

Could do with a small convenience shelf in the bathroom.

Nice puffy cotton bedding with washable everything. Very cozy. Everything clean and modern.

The lighting in the room was really bad. It was cool-looking, but there was no place you could read. Also, I would have preferred a desk to a separate room with a couch and television.

I felt I had very good value. I loved the urban industrial decor (with design magazines in the room), and the view. It was great to have a kitchenette and a grocery store so close by so I could make use of it. Location was ideal too - short walk to convention centre (Palace des Congres), as well as to St. Catherine's Street and shopping and to Old Montreal. Staff was helpful. I appreciated the free WiFi.

The taxi driver said it was in a "bad district" (drugs, prostitution, China Town). I didn't experience this myself, though - instead to walk to Palace des Congres I walked along Renee Levesque and down Saint Urbain rather than down Saint Laurent.

I liked the price and location being between Chinatown and walking distance from the shopping district. I felt it was the most affordable and closest to the jazz festival and arts center. Having a bus from the airport directly to the hotel was excellent and a huge savings. City buses that went from the waterfront ran through Old town, Chinatown, and to all the nightlife on St. Laurent was another plus. Free Wi-Fi was much appreciated and should be offered in all hotels. I really enjoyed the cable tv options and microwave in room. To top it off the mini gym was a nice touch overlooking the terrace.

What I did not like was the moody darkness of the hotel throughout the hotel I found it odd the walls and ceiling are painted black and the mirrors an odd yellow cast? The lighting was horrible in the hotel and in the bathrooms. Natural light was very difficult for me in my room. The air quality was a perfect match in the lobby very musty, dank, and stuffy. Although the appearance is sleek and modern the smell lets you know something is lurking behind all those curtains. The bathrooms cool but not functional no shelves for things, and the showers contemporary but difficult to use. They need to address lighting in rooms and bath. Nobiggy but clock radio was impossible to figure out at well. Keep it simple.

The hotel has everything from easy access to the entertainment area,Chinatown and Old Montreal. It is walking distance from the Central bus station and the Metro city bus is outside the front door. The decor is very modern chic French with some charcoal walls and white furniture . Beautiful little bathroom with shower, lovely little kitchenette and the most comfortable bed. Large sunny windows and table for two. The staff are wonderfully cheerful, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was free croissants, fruit, juice and coffee. My husband and I are seniors and very seasoned travellers and we thought this hotel was perfection in every way.

There were a few problems with the room (811): 1. there are no bedside or desk lamps 2. the air conditioning was turned off - I had to find the breaker panel and turn the breaker on. 3. there was a smell in the room like a sewer smell.

  • Older travelers
    7.8

The location of the Hotel was a big plus. The main areas of attraction for a tourist, like the Old Town, Old Port, Downtown, the Central Station etc., were within walking distance. And we actually did walk to most to these places. Access to the Bus and Metro service was also quite good. And that opened up the possibility of visiting areas of the city which were away from the hotel.

Due to the on-going renovations and redesigning exercise, the Hotel has the appearance of a place in transition. The corridors were dark with unfinished paints on the walls. I believe the Hotel interior should assume a more cheerful appearance once the renovations had been completed.

Location was close to the subway

The location although close to the subway seemed to be in a very bad part of town.

Rooms were modern, I liked the decorations. Good price for the accommodations. Clean and comfortable. Location good for downtown shopping and restaurants.

Shower was a bit small, could be quite loud on weekend nights due to location but hard to get closer to nightlife if that is what you are looking for.
